Things you need to know

Safety

  • You must hold a current restricted drivers licence or higher (you must bring your licence with you on the day)
  • Driver must be aged 16 years or over
  • Minimum height: 150cm
  • Maximum height: 195cm
  • Maximum weight: 115kg
  • We have a zero tolerance to alcohol on all self drive experiences
  • Not suitable for pregnant women or those suffering from a heart condition
  • You must have a credit/debit card for a $2,000 security bond, for any damages that are caused through negligent or inappropriate use of the vehicle. All funds will be released after the experience is finished if no damage has been caused to the vehicle

Taupo Motorsport Park reserves the right to replace the Porsche GT3 RS with a Supercar of a similar specification, without notice, if required, should it encounter any unforeseen mechanical issues with the Porsche GT3 RS.

FAQS

How long after my experience should I book my go karts for?

We recommend booking your go karts for an hour and a half after your experience, i.e. if your experience is at 10am, we recommend booking go karts for 11:30am.

How many laps is the experience?

2 laps of our International circuit are included.

Can we drive?

No, this is a passenger only experience.

How long before my experience is my arrival time?

We ask that you arrive 30 minutes before your experience begins, i.e. if you book for 11 am, your arrival time will be 10:30am.

How long is the experience?

We recommend you allow one and a half hours - this will include registration, briefing, gear requirements, and time in the car (typically 4-8 minutes).

What do I wear?

Comfortable clothing and covered shoes - we provide all other safety equipment.

Can I bring my own go pro/in-car camera?

No, unfortunately we cannot let you take your own camera in the car. This is due to health and safety precautions. We do have the in-car footage available for purchase through our team.

Is there a height, weight or age restriction?

Minimum height is 150cm (4 foot, 11 inches), maximum height is 187cm (6 foot, 1 inch), maximum weight is 115kg and there is no age restriction.
